New Year’s Eve Party Themes

Just when we were starting to like 2016, it went and ended on us. But before we say goodbye, we can share one last celebration together.

Whether you had a good year or a bad year, you can still end the year with some fun. Celebrating the new year is something that nearly everyone does. That means if you’re having your own party, you’ve got some fierce competition.

And sure, New Year’s isn’t about “who had the best party”, but let’s be honest, you secretly want to have the best party.

So, here are a few themes you can try out to make your New Year’s the best New Year’s.

Black Light New Years

Cover the windows, string up the black lights, handout some glow-sticks, encourage guests to wear white and light colored clothing, and you have yourself a New Year’s party that looks like it’s happening on another planet.

It’s probably a good idea to have a side room or two that doesn’t look like a rave scene. Just make sure the light doesn’t bleed into the main party.

Chinese New Year’s

The Chinese New Year doesn’t actually start until the end of January, but we won’t tell if you don’t. Plus, this is a great excuse to string up some lanterns, have some fantastic oriental food, and eat everything with chopsticks.

High Roller Casino Themed

This one works great because it allows everyone to get dressed up while also providing a lot of entertainment. Setup a few tables, get some blackjack and poker going, and let the dice roll.

Actually…neither of those games have dice in them. But you get the idea.

To really go all in, give everyone some play money at the door and allow them to use it for drinks, prizes, and of course, gambling.

End of the World New Year’s

Feeling a little uncertain about the future? Maybe you just really like post-apocalyptic stories. In either case, if you want to really do something different, you could try an “it’s the end of the world party”. People can make crazy/prophetic signs, you can hang up some biohazard symbols, and even get a person or two to dress up like a zombie.

It’s a little out there, but done right, it could be the New Year’s that no one forgets.

Pajama Party

Planning on going to bed shortly after midnight? Or maybe you just like to be comfortable. Whatever the case, a pajama party is the perfect option for your New Year’s.

Strictly Black and White

When in doubt, you can’t go wrong with a classic. A formal black and white get together is a bit of a rarity these days anyway. So why not go for it? Just make sure to have a camera wall so everyone can capture how good they look.

Don’t Forget About the Food

A great party is incomplete without great food. But with all of the run around you’re doing for the decorations and planning, why not let someone else worry about it? Rudy’s is here for your edible needs, whether it’s 2016, 2017, or beyond.

Did we mention we offer barbecue catering? We can’t think of a better way to end the year than with some BBQ.

True barbeque as practiced in the American South has 4
main ingredients- quality meats, low temperatures, wood
burning for flavor enhancement, and lots and lots of
patience, which is exactly what we do here at Rudy’s
All Glory be to God!
