Buffet Vs. Plated Meal

When you are invited to a formal event, whether it be a wedding, a fundraiser, or a special anniversary party, you are expected to look and act the part. You must follow the guidelines for the way you dress and behave in a manor appropriate for the occasion.

It can be fun to get all dressed up and celebrate a special event in you or a loved one’s life. Formal events can be done in all different ways. Some have music and dancing, some have a special performance, and some have an auction or a way to raise money.

There is one thing, however, that they all have in common, and that is food. If you invite guests to get dressed up and invest on a special night they are going to be counting on a good meal to match these high expectations!

Our high end catering services at Rudy’s Smokehouse has years of experience providing food for formal events, and we have an impressive menu and professional staff to show for it! With food being so important to everyone’s experience at an event, a planner is forced to make a very big decision when they meet with their caterer…

Buffet style or plated meal?

Both a full service buffet or a plated meal can be acceptable for a more formal event, but each have different features that may cater to your specific event better.

Full service buffet

At Rudy’s smokehouse we are happy to provide you will a full staff to set up, serve, and clean up from your buffet dinner.

This is a great option if your timeline for the event is a little more relaxed or you have activities and entertainment throughout the evening. This gives your guests something to do while they wait their turn to get food or lets them choose when they would like to get food throughout the night.

Having a full service buffet is nice for a formal event because you guests will feel they are being well taken care of as they go through the line and our staff fill their plates with food and a smile!

Plated Meal

A full plated meal can be served to your guests right at their table. If your event is one where guests will be directed to sit down or you have a schedule you need to adhere to, this is a great option.

A plated meal is efficient in getting everyone served in a timely manner. Guests also love not having to get up and wait in line for their food.

Both options are great for high end catering. You guests may have greater expectations when you invite them to a formal event and Rudy’s Smokehouse will exceed those expectations with incredible service and a delicious meal!
