The First Steps to Booking a Wedding Caterer

If you are recently engaged you have probably already begun a deep dive into the first steps of wedding planning. You will quickly find there are many big, important decisions that need to be made and planned well before your upcoming wedding day.

It is easy to become overwhelmed by the multitude of decisions that need to be mad. This makes it hard to know where to begin. We are here to help you get started on the first steps to planning your wedding and booking a wedding caterer.

Let’s get started!

Step 1: Set the budget

The budget is one of the most important factors to wedding planning. Everything you do will depend on the budget. Once you have a budget set, you will be able to set the stage and expectation for what you would like your wedding to look like.

This may feel like a big decision, but remember there are always fun creative ways to save money and many affordable vendors.

Step 2: Set the location

A location and venue will be something you are able to lock in once you have a budget set. Be sure to do plenty of research. You will want to do your best to compare prices and what each venue offers for their price.

You will want to visit a few of your favorite venues in person before you book the winner!

Step 3: Set the date

Once you find a venue you will be able to set the date. The further out you find a venue the more likely they are to have the date you may be hoping for available. Most wedding venues start to fill up anywhere from 9 months to a year in advance.

Step 4: Book your caterer

The last big step to kick start your wedding planning will be to book a caterer. Like your wedding venue many caterers begin to fill their calendars with events up to a year in advance so the sooner you can select a caterer the better.

You will want to choose your caterer based on your budget, location, and any restrictions your venue may have. Rudy’s Smokehouse provides catering services for weddings all around Ohio. We strive to offer menu options to fit any budget and venue!
