Whether your hosting an event or attending an event we all know food will always be one of the main attractions.
Food has a way of bringing people together, creating memories, satisfying cravings, and enhancing any gathering.
Unfortunately, when gone to waste, food also has a way of filling up landfills, contributing to methane gas, and wasting resources. Nobody wants that.
Catering companies and event hosts are constantly walking the fine line of wanting to be sure they have enough food for their guests while at the same time not creating too much waste with uneaten food. It is one of the hardest skills to master.
Rudy’s Smokehouse has used its years of catering experience to be sure we are being responsible for not only feeding and satisfying your guests but doing our part to help the environment and create as little waste or extra food as possible.
There are a few ways you can partner with us to be sure you are being responsible with your leftover food
Any catering company you work with should be able to guide you in the proper amount of food to order. Finding a catering company that values ensuring you have enough food is important but so is one that wants to make sure you don’t have to much either.
An experienced catering company like Rudy’s Smokehouse can advise you on just the right amount.
Have a left over plan
Whether you are hosting an event in your home or a large scale event in a venue, having a backup plan for left overs is a great idea. Many times guests are happy to take leftovers home with them as they leave. Otherwise, contacting a local shelter or food shelf can be a great way to ensure leftovers don’t go to waste and can act as a way to give back to your community.
As we mentioned before, it takes a lot of experience in catering to master the skill of ordering and preparing just the right amount of food. This is why we are excited to partner with you for your next event to be sure we do our part to make your guests and the environment happy!
